L/Cpl. Dimitrios Gavriel, 29, USMC of Plaistow, NH was killed during operations near Fallujah, Iraq on 19, November, 2004.

Cpl. Timothy Gibson, 23 United States Marine Corps of Merrimack, New Hampshire was killed Jan. 26, 2005, when the helicopter he was riding in crashed near Rutbah, Iraq. The casualties included 29 Marines and one sailor.

L/Cpl. Michael Geary 20, United States Marine Corps of was killed in action in Afghanistan on Wednesday morning, five months into his first deployment.

SSgt. Charles Edward Dane, USMC, 37, of Auburn, NH died June 25, 2009, in Bridgeport, Calif.He was born in Manchester, July 14, 1971, the son of Charlen J. (Dane) McLean. He attended one year at Pinkerton Academy in Derry and was a graduate of Lawrence, Mass., High School in 1989.Since entering the U.S. Marine Corps in 1994, he served three tours in Iraq, two tours in Kosovo, and one tour in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, six Sea Service Deployment Ribbons as well as the Combat Action Ribbon.

S/Sgt. Edmond L. Lo, 23, Army, of Salem, New Hampshire was killed June, 2009 when a roadside bomb he was attempting to neutralize detonated. Lo graduated from Salem High School in 2004, where he was a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC program. An ROTC leader in his senior year, Lo was commander of the drill team, color guard and operations squadron. He was call "Mr. Dependable, every time we needed something, he was there." said Thomas Puzzo, a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant and aerospace science instructor at the school.

Cpl. Michael W. Ouellette, 28, USMC, was killed in action in Afghanistan, March 22, 2009. He was born in Manchester, NH, May 25, 1980. He attended local schools and graduated Memorial High School in 1999. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2005. Enterment was at The NH Veterans Cemetery Boscawen, New Hampshire.

SPC. Justin Pellerin, 21, United States Army of Boscawen, NH was killed when the vehicle he was in was the target of an explosive device on Thursday, August 20, 2009. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY

Capt. Kyle R. Van De Giesen, 29, United States Marine Corps, of Goffstown, NH a helicopter pilot, was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan on Tuesday, October 26, 2009.

SSgt. Stephen L. Murphy, 36, USMC of Troy, NH was killed in Al Asad, Iraq while supporting "Operation Iraqi Freedom", according to the Department of Defence, on Sunday, November 8, 2009.

Pfc. Marc Paul Decoteau, 19, United States Army of Waterville Valley, New Hampshire was killed in Afghanistan Friday, January 29, 2010.

Pfc. Eric D. Currier, 21, USMC of Londonderry, New Hampshire was killed Wednesday, February 17, 2010 during an offensive in the Helmand province in Afghanistan conducted by the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, according to a news release yesterday from the U.S. Department of Defense.

SCPO. Daniel R. Healy  36, U.S. Navy Seal, of Exeter, New Hampshire was among 16 killed when their MH-47 helicopter which was on a rescue mission and was shot down in Kunar Province, Afghanistan in June 2005. 

S/Sgt. Kyle R. Warren 28 United States Army of Manchester, New Hampshire was killed by an IED that struck the vehicle he and Capt. Jason E. Holbrook of Burnet, Texas in Tsagay, Afghanistan on Thursday, July 29, 2010.

Master Sgt. Jared N. Van Aalst, 34, of the U.S. Army Special Operations, was killed Wednesday during a combat operation in the Konduz Province of Afghanistan.
Sgt. Andrew C. Nicol, 23 United States Army of Kensington, New Hampshire was killed by an IED in Afghanistan on Sunday, August 8, 2010.

Cpl. Philip Gerald Eichner Charte  22, United States Marine Corps of Goffstown, New Hampshire was killed while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on September 7, 2010.

CWO Christopher R. Thibideau 28, United States Army, formerly of Marlborough, New Hampshire, died of injuries sustained in a helicopter crash durind combat operations in Paktika Province, Afghanistan. An Army helicopter pilot assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade out of Fort Hood Texas. He died on Thursday, May 28. 2011.

Pfc. Michael B. Cook Jr. 27, United States Army formerly of Salem, New Hampshire. Cook had been serving in Iraq since November. He was killed on Monday, June 13, 2011 — his 27th birthday — during a rocket attack on a military base in Baghdad.

L/Cpl. Michael Geary, 20, died in combat in northern Marjah, Helmand province, Afghanistan, He was part of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. December 8, 2010.

Spc. David Stelmat, 27, of Littleton,New Hampshire was a medic with the New Hampshire Army National Guard. A 1998 graduate of Profile High School, he was killed along with two others when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He had served as an infantryman with the active-duty Army in Afghanistan in 2003, later enlisting with the Guard to become a medic.

Sgt. Zachary Teller, 31, a Manchester, New Hampshire a West High School graduate, was killed by enemy fire in Afghanistan. Tellier lived in Charlotte, N.C., not far from the Fort Bragg base of his unit, 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division. Tellier attended Bedford schools beginning in fourth grade and considered New England his home. He left behind his parents, siblings and a wife.

Spc. Justin Rollins, 22 of Newport, New Hampshire was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was killed with five other paratroopers by an IED in Samarra, Iraq. In high school, Rollins played center for the football team and threw shot put for track. His friends and family remember him as mischievous, energetic and proud to serve in the military. He had been planning to propose to his girlfriend during his next leave. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

L/Cpl. Ryan T. McCaughn,19, of Manchester, New Hampshire was killed by a homemade bomb in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. A 2005 graduate of Central High School, McCaughn followed his father's footsteps into the Marine Corps. On the day he died, many Americans were casting their ballots in the 2006 elections.

Sgt. Russell Durgin, 23, of Henniker, New Hampshire was killed by hostile fire in the mountains of Afghanistan. He was a sniper team leader with the 10th Mountain Division based out of Fort Drum, N.Y. Durgin was a 2001 graduate of John Stark Regional High School, where he played lacrosse. He enlisted at age 17, while his twin brother, Sean, signed up for the Air Force. He served in South Korea and Iraq before going to Afghanistan. Durgin talked with his family and his girlfriend about coming home, getting married and becoming a state trooper.

Capt. Douglas DiCenzo, 30, of Plymouth, New Hampshire was killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb. DiCenzo was an elite Army soldier, which is the career he always wanted. He was strong and smart, friends said. He led his football and wrestling teams at Plymouth High School and played football at West Point Academy. After graduating from West Point, DiCenzo completed Army airborne and ranger school. In 2004, he took command of 150 soldiers in Charlie Co. of the 1st Armored Division. He had been in Iraq since the previous November. He left behind his wife, Nicole, and a son who was 16 months old at the time.

L/CPL. Robert Moscillo, 21, of Salem was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. Moscillo was nicknamed "The Chaplain" at boot camp. He prayed with other Marines and sometimes persuaded them to go to church with him and his grandmother. He wanted to become a pastor, and he thought the Marines could help him afford seminary school. He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineers, 1st Marine Division, Bravo Company, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Pfc. Matthew Bertolino, 20, of Hampstead, New Hampshire died in Jalabad, Afghanistan when his vehicle rolled over during a combat patrol. February 8, 2006

L/Cpl. Adam Brooks, 20, of Manchester, New Hampshire was killed when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee. Brooks joined the Marines after graduating from Central High School in 2003. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Brooks and his wife, Ashley, got married on Memorial Day weekend before his deployment. Brooks was killed three months before he was expected to return home. Family members said he'd hoped to someday become a state trooper. November 28, 2004.

Spc. Jeremy, 22, of Littleton, New Hampshire was killed in Iraq when his armored vehicle drove over a bomb outside Baghdad. Regnier, a vehicle gunner, joined the New Hampshire Army National Guard in 2000. Six months later, he switched to active duty and was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Regiment based at Fort Hood, Texas. October 13, 2004.

Sgt. Jeremiah Holmes, 27, grew up in Dover, New Hampshire and was the first New Hampshire Guardsman to die in combat since the Vietnam War. A soldier with the 744th Transportation Company out of Hillsboro, Holmes was killed when his truck ran over a bomb on a bridge near Baghdad. The company had been in Iraq less than a month. Holmes and his wife, Kim, had a son, Kaleb, who was almost 1 year old when Holmes was killed. May 28, 2004.

Spc. Nicholas P. Bernier, 21, United States Army of East Kingston, N.H., died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries suffered June 22 when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire in Kherwar, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, La.
